In my Bogota office with Luna, our bomb sniffing dog. She checks all packages coming in. The program I manage is called MIDAS and provides alternatives to Colombia's vulnerable groups so that they do not have to engage in illicit crops and activities. Other parts of the Embassy manage the spray planes.

In Kandahar with District Governor of Arghandab. He is pomegranate farmer and his predecessor was killed by Taliban suicide bomber. Very tense atmospherics and difficult environment - we owe more than our thanks to the thousands of America's finest for serving there.
