Married
July 25, 1981
We met in Culpeper, VA in 1978, where I was working as a special education teacher and he was a school psychologist.
Graduated from Syracuse U with a BFA in 1973. Worked at various jobs and went back to school to earn a Master's degree in special education at the U of Virginia. Taught students with disabilities in VA, where I met my husband, Nick, a psychologist. Completed a Ph.D. in special education at UVA in 1984. Was a professor at The Citadel in Charleston, SC for 23 years, where I coordinated the special education graduate program. We were fortunate to "retire" at 55 in 2006. After 35 years in Charleston, SC we decided to evacuate the coast permanently and are enjoying living on Lake Murray in Lexington, SC. We spend part of the year in the Blue Ridge Mountains near Boone, NC, where there are many hiking opportunieis. Retirement enabled me to get back to painting and I find being a full-time artist very fulfilling and a nice change from academia.

Bev--
Are you able to make the reunion? I would love to see you. Remember the trip to the beach? Cindy Wert's mom and my mom took you, me, Jean Hill, Sheila C, Linda Bosler; and Debbi, Cindy, and Tommy Patrick Wert.
I loved all four years of Spanish with Mr. Smyth. He was ahead of his time since he focused on communication rather than conjugation--a great instructional model!

Cindy, Nick and I are looking forward to catching up with you and seeing classmates. Do you have contact information for Cindy Brandt, Mary Brandt's older sister? The Brandt family lived around the corner from you and me. I was so sad to hear of Mary's passing and would like to get in touch with Cindy. Mary and I talked about getting together in Charleston when she was on a sister trip, but never were able to rendezvous.
